We’re on a journey with color. We’re venturing outside our comfort zone of complementary colors and experimenting with the analogous, those colors that neighbor each other on the color wheel and come together in a harmonious intensity.
Pairing blues and purples creates a combination that innately evokes emotions of tranquility and transformation; almost a watery, flowy freedom that brings peace and calm rather than resistance. We could wax poetic about color theory, but from a fashion perspective, what’s significant about this color combination is that it’s soothing; it’s lovely, it’s pleasant, passive even, and it’s a perfect pairing for spring. It might be time to take inventory of your accessories, because lapis lazuli and purple spiny oyster are going to be center stage this season.
