Double D Ranch has a new place to hang their hats – and boots and biker jackets. The longtime legends in the world of Western wear are bringing their brand to Round Top this fall.

The new storefront, located in The Halles (1465 N Texas 237), will be in addition to DDR’s original showroom (affectionately known as The Mothership) in Yoakum, Texas, and their elegant flagship store in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

“Round Top is right in our backyard and we – my sisters and I – have been making day trips to shop and seek inspiration since long before we became DDR,” shared Creative Director Cheryl McMullen. “It was a natural next step for us, the brand feels right at home here and our customers will as well.”

The Round Top location will be home to Double D’s most extensive in-person boot selection (the “Big Ol’ Boot Room” is one of the destination’s main draws), unique antiques and vintage one-of-a-kind finds, as well as some of the DDR Heritage Collection items and apparel from current collections. The brand’s newest brick-and-mortar boasts an eclectic aesthetic that’s reminiscent of a mid-century mercantile.

“Whereas the Fort Worth store is elegant and curated, the Round Top Mercantile is colorful and charming,” Cheryl explained. “It has a hint of 1950s nostalgia, like back when you were stopping to get a bag of feed with your grandpa and picking up a new pair of jeans, too. It’s a different look and feel from our other establishments, but still very on-brand, very DDR.”

A somewhat unconventional concept that DDR has dubbed ‘a permanent pop-up’, the space is a bit of a mixed-use retail-meets-recreation destination – complete with a full bar – that aims to offer an experience unlike any other.

“Obviously, having a location in Round Top is going to broaden our horizons as far as exposure to fresh faces and new customers,” Cheryl said. “But even die-hard DDR devotees are in for a novel experience. It’s going to be something to do, rather than just somewhere to go or somewhere to shop. It’s an innovative avenue for engaging with our audience.”

During the off-season, DDR’s Round Top Mercantile will host themed retreats and interactive events, such as cowgirl camps, craft courses, and speakers and seminars on everything from styling yourself to skincare to self-esteem.

The grand opening is slated for October 12th to coincide with Round Top’s annual Fall Market Days.

Y’all know how much I love vintage, upcycled, and home furnishings. This is truly exciting news and love the part about off season events as well. Great concept and hope to see the new digs soon!
