New shape, who dis? Fashion is ever-evolving, and these days, we are in the midst of a serious silhouette-shift.

“Cropped and boxy – but it’s cuter than it sounds!” laughed Cheryl. “In fact, it can be even more flattering than fitted if you style it right. There is a whole style shift that’s moving more toward straight lines, we’re seeing these cropped tops with higher waisted pants, particularly wide-legged pants that are also a cropped length. It seems counterintuitive, but aesthetically, it works. So, we tweaked it to our taste and tried it out in Traveling Show – what better time to try a new tee than in the middle of a sweltering summer?”

Of course we made it colorful and fun to wear with all the embellishments and embroidery you’ve come to know and love in your DDR tops and tees, and even better – we finished this one in fringe! And, because our design team is clever and just the best, it happens to be named the Daring Girl Riders Top, which is perfect because even though it’s nothing like diving 40 feet on a horse, it is a little bit of a new and daring look that’s pushing our comfort zone a touch. Do NOT let that scare you, though! We promise it is not like a true crop top, the kind you’re going to see on toothpick teeny-boppers, it’s way more wearable.

And hey, if you’re loving the look, but still not sure you’re totally ready to rock the shorter silhouette, throw a cami on under it! Even just a plain tank (you know, the men’s undershirt kind – we’re not sure what the new PC term is for it, but we’re certain we shouldn’t use the old one!) will give you that extra length and booty coverage you need to feel more comfortable as you ease into the trend.

Its pretty, but at 71, too short, as I have to cover the bulges☹️

I love the boxy tops. I’ve been wearing them for years when I can find them. I’m short and they fit my body just right! Love this Tee.

At 29 I would have loved this crop. At 79 it won’t be in my closet.

Love the shorter style. Fits my 5’2” frame better than the longer tshirt style. Can’t wait to get one!
