If you’re new to the DDR fam, here’s a crash course on the incredible and inspirational group of gals (and guys!) we call the Wolf Pack, the origin story of why we call it that, and the cute little charms we use to commemorate our camaraderie year after year.

WHO IS IN THE WOLF PACK?

Anyone and everyone who shares a love for Double D Ranch and everything it has come to represent – the look, the lifestyle, the ladies, the whole shebang. They come from all over the world, all walks of life, and they span generations. From the first-time buyer to the lifelong collector with a closet full of vintage DDR, and even those aspirational Addicts working their way to that must-have investment piece, everyone with an appreciation for the aesthetic and southwestern style is welcome in our Wolf Pack. The only real rule is that you’ve gotta mind the mantra: Play nice. Be free.

WHY A “WOLF PACK”?

This family-oriented company was started by some strong-willed sisters 30 years ago, back when they were wide-eyed dreamers still a little wet behind the ears, with big ideas and big personalities. But whether it was their competitiveness or their conviction, nothing was going to stand in their way -- and more importantly, nothing was going to come in between or take precedence over family. They’re tough, loyal, and protective, and thus, the McMullens earned the tongue-in-cheek moniker “a pack of wolves”, and it became a badge of honor.

HOW’D IT SPREAD TO OUR CUSTOMERS?

“Our Wolf Pack has really been in the making for decades,” Cheryl explained. “But I think it was really cemented, really became a community, when we created the Double D Addiction Facebook group. That’s when not only were we connecting directly with our customers and our wholesalers, but we were connecting them with each other. I think that’s when the Wolf Pack as we now know it was born, and it took on a life of its own! We really can’t even take credit for it; these women built it.”

SO, WHAT DO CHARMS HAVE TO DO WITH IT?

Well, that also has kind of taken on a life of its own. It began with the original Wolf Pack tag in 2018, a little token of our community, something we could all have in common. “It’s basically like an adult friendship bracelet – but with hundreds of people!” Cheryl laughed. “And that’s when we started assigning numbers, like member numbers. When you buy the original Wolf Pack charm, you get a number, and then every tag you get after that, you can have your number stamped on it as well. And our Wolfies have really adopted their numbers, a lot of them will sign off messages or greeting cards with their numbers, it’s really sweet.”

We didn’t originally intend on it being an annual thing, but like we said, it took on a life of its own. Now we design one every summer and they’ve become little collectibles. We now have the original Wolf Pack charm (you must own this one to get a number), and then ones commemorating 2019, 2020, and recently released 2021.

So there ya have it! That’s how this wild and wonderful Wolf Pack came to be!
