We know that, in Texas at least, fall temps have been a bit of a tease thus far, but surely we’re right on the cusp of cooling down, right? Right?! Well, we choose to believe chilly temps must be right around the corner, and that’s got us thinking about jazzing up our jacket rotation. This collection sure brought us some beauties, so we’re rounding up our Walker what-to-wears to make sure we’re covered (literally) for every occasion!

    FRIDAY NIGHT ‘LIGHTS’

School’s back in session and anyone with littles or grand-littles knows that sports season is in full swing, and that means a whole lot of time in the bleachers for you. Temps don’t usually get brutally bitter until around playoff time, so scoring a nice selection of lightweight jackets is a key component of your fall wardrobe. Think jazzed up jean jackets like the Lead Steer or the Cattlemen’s Social Club, chic cotton neutrals like the Bob Wire khaki denim or the Corralled Camo cotton duster, and of course, there’s the In Stitches Jacket that cowgirl cool with a warm fleece feel.

    ROAD TRIPPING TO LEATHER WEATHER

If your calendar’s not chock full of little league, fall is arguably the BEST time of year for a road trip! Leaves are changing, sunsets are gorgeous, and who doesn’t love a change in environment and altitude? If you’ve got the chance to take a long weekend to the mountains or peruse the Santa Fe Square, it’s the perfect opportunity to show off your statement jackets. Bust out that bold biker. Dazzle them in a duster. Or pump up the volume in the Breakheart Pass or Wrangled and Tangled Jackets with those fabulous luxe collars! (Speaking of collars… we know it’s not leather, but the Bar X Car Coat is just begging for a crisp cabin morning.)

    ALL DAY, E’RY DAY

From Saturday morning errands to strolling through the Stockyards, ‘tis the season for cute comfort! A chic sweatshirt? Yes, please! A Southwest serape pullover? I’m all in! A cowgirl Cowichan cardigan? Wrap me up! Time to make the most of #cozycouture.

    And then there’s the end-all, be-all…

    ONE FINE MOTHER DUSTER

This is the kind of coat that will have you willing the weather to cool down – and probably not even waiting for it! “Was that a wind gust? Better grab my duster.” “Do you think the restaurant will be chilly? I’ll bring my duster.” The Pettytown Duster is an every excuse, every occasion kind of jacket. Steal the show at NFR. Be the envy of your in-laws at the holidays. Heck, strut the streets of NYC – you remember how Thelma Jones had half of Central Park falling in love with her waist-length version! There is absolutely nowhere you can wear this jacket and NOT be the talk of the town.

~ Have y’all ever considered doing a post on your models and how they bring your gorgeous clothes to life? As a huge fan of the great state of Texas, I love seeing Kaylin, Lozzie and Quisha showcase your collections each season. ~

~ Fall is my favourite time of the year and early October is my birthday. I’ve already “busted” out my Backwoods Barbie biker jacket (Sky) and my Old Gringo Midnight Cowboy boots. Living in the mountains, I wear cowgirl boots year round, rotating from ankle length to tall depending on my outfits). I don’t wear them simply to get noticed but to stay warm and be stylish. Here in the mountains, the leaves have already turned to beautiful colours before falling to the ground. Double D Ranch always offers the best in cowgirl fashion this time of year esp. for this mountain fashionista who puts her on spin on your clothes. Once my Midnight Cowboy hat arrives, I probably will be the talk of our nearest small town! Thank you for helping me to represent. ~

I have a tan colored jacket, suede, that I have had many years. Could you ever add fringe to it. Just can’t have enough fringe..your duster is divine.
