Transitioning from one season to the next means unpredictable temps and wild shifts in weather. The key to keeping comfortable? Layers.

“We’re not breaking any news here,” Cheryl laughed. “Anyone who is a mother – or who even HAS a mother – can hear the refrain, ‘don’t forget to dress in layers!’ In Texas, we’re famous for running our AC and our heater in the same day, so layering has always been essential for navigating our wild weather.”

These days, we don’t do it as much for necessity as for style, but thanks to our mamas, we’re well-practiced at it.

“As much as we love to design and create the showstopper statement pieces,” Cheryl said. “We’re equally dedicated to building a wearable wardrobe, that’s functional and practical and versatile. It can’t all be leather bikers, ya know! You have to have some good core pieces, some staples and layering pieces. Our Bryce Henley has been a huge hit for that, it’s even more versatile than we imagined when we initially designed it, and now in Chisholm we have this really lightweight Rio Salado with a lettuce-edged collar and cuff that peeks out from underneath, and it’s a fabulous, perfect piece for layering.”

A few more reasons to love it? Well, for one, it’s covered in a classic star-and-dot custom print, so no matter which part is peeking out, it gives you a fun pop of personality. And two, it’s sheer, so it layers beautifully without being bulky, whether that’s under a vest, a jacket, a pearl snap, or even the Bryce Henley.

Dress it up, dress it down. Rock it over, under, or on its own. The Rio Salado is well worth a spot in your wardrobe!
