Strong women aren’t born, they’re raised.

    Grandma Eloise

We’ve often joked that we come from a long line of outlaws – and it’s true that we’ve got some boundary-pushers in our family tree – but we are also blessed to have a number of influences who were steadfast examples of how to live life the right way. Our Grandmother Eloise was integral in our upbringing, key to the core of our beings and the people we grew into. She was a testament of resilience, the epitome of hard work and loyalty and kindness. She was dealt a difficult hand, and yet she overflowed with unconditional love for us; she embodied the ideal that being tough doesn’t have to make you hard. She taught us to love wholly, generously, and joyously; a love so all-encompassing and pure that one out of a million people might have the capacity for it and that its absence is felt every day still.

The Fall 2022 collections draw on characters from our own stories, from our ancestors to our alter egos, pulling inspiration from the pages of our scrapbooks. The first collection, a nod to our paternal grandmother, is both an homage to everything Eloise was and a tribute to everything she never got to be. It’s the rustic Western rodeo vibes from her era, the workshirts and Comal County plaids, balanced with the upscale and elegant femininity that never fit into her lifestyle where the work never stopped. It’s reminiscent and a little romantic, and every piece is a wearable reminder of where we came from and what we’re made of.

Life is tough, darling, but so are you.

~ I am amazed at how family and heritage are used as an inspirational legacy when designing a collection. Like how the current Walker Collection pays homage to your great great grandfather. DDR is light years away from the rag trade I used to work in. Their “influence” was based primarily on the European fashion market which continued from one season to the next. Your aesthetic appeals to my personal style and Cheryl, thanks to you, I can now enjoy the longevity of wearing velvet year round (thank you). Your items grace my cowgirl closet with unique style; esp. when I put my own spin on them. Here in West Virginia, fall is the perfect time to whip out my Sky Blue Backwoods Barbie biker jacket. Most people are awed b/c they’ve never seen anything like it. Or my Midnight Cowboy boots I purchased in March ’22. Every time I wear them, I get tons of compliments! As a former New Yorker, I am so glad I found your website. It always keeps me coming back for more! Keep up the great work…love you all. ~
