Mark your calendars, gals – Cynthia is right around the corner!

“All of the characters who inspired Cowgirls Closets – fictional or historical – are women I admired or adored for very different reasons,” Cheryl explained. “Cynthia Ann Parker is one that I deeply revere. As a child of Texas, I learned her story pretty early on in my life and it never left me. She was more than a survivor; she was a heroine of her own story. As a mother now, it resonates even more strongly; she was endlessly devoted to her children. In paying homage to her, I didn’t try to literally reimagine what was in her closet as much as channel her spirit of strength and optimism and appreciate what she appreciated within the culture she adopted.”

Over the next several weeks, we aim to educate and enlighten about Cynthia and her son, Quanah, and the Comanche culture as she lived it. We also intend to celebrate her.

In continuing our “Closet Cocktails”, we will be premiering Cynthia with Prickly Pear Margaritas. Join us in the Double D Addiction group Thursday, March 11th at 7:00 p.m. CDT for a lighthearted half hour of cocktails and conversation with Audrey and Cheryl, and then at 7:30, we’ll transition into a Facebook Live line launch of the Cynthia Collection with all the commentary and comedy you’ve come to expect from the McMullen sisters! Don’t forget to RSVP to the Facebook event to be entered in the drawing to win all sorts of Double D goodies and make sure you tune in because you MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! See y’all then!
