When it comes to design, black is anything but basic. In a sense, it’s essential. It’s the punctuation of a collection, the grounding hue, the modern edge.

Or, as Cheryl once interestingly and adequately articulated it, “A strong, chic black jacket is like bold winged eyeliner on an outfit.”

Let’s be honest, there’s a reason – or a million – that black never goes out of style. It’s the ultimate neutral, it’s universally flattering (both in slimming and working with all complexions), and it is that great unifier across all seasons. There is literally no time of year when you can’t wear black.

But more than all that, black is a power color! It can totally transform your state of mind, and it can convey all sorts of vibes: empowered, sexy (hello, LBD), chic, and ready to be taken seriously. It just makes you feel like the baddest version of yourself, in whatever scenario you need it! You can walk in a room donning all black and make a statement without saying a word. It’s remarkable. You can’t tell me that Tori in that all black outfit and Pueblo Pottery Jacket doesn’t make you feel some type of way.

And if you really want to make an “I’m here, I’m amazing, and I won’t be ignored” kind of entrance, show up and show off in the Solstice Ceremony Jacket. Metallic-foiled goat suede? Say no more, sis.

~ Black should be a staple colour in any cowgirl closet b/c it balances others on the colour wheel. A few months ago, I purchased a black DDR tee with arrows and a blanket pattern on the front. It has beading and lots of fringe (with a shark bite hemline) at the bottom. It reads: Play Nice, Be Free/Double D Ranch on the back from a previous DDR collection. When worn with red (my favourite colour), it makes a statement. Along with my new Midnight Cowboy hat, I get compliments galore. Thanks for the great job y’all do. ~

Without black my closet would be close to empty! I have SO many favorite black Double D pieces- if I had to choose two favorites: the black Hondo vest and the black velvet fur trimmed cape…. MORE BLACK! ❤️
