  • Roy Rogers Inspired Eagle Boot Vest

    May 17, 2012 1 min read 1 Comment

Roy Rogers was the epitome of a cowboy. Stetson hat, strong features,

charm, integrity, toughness, and a good pair of boots.

    . .

These are a pair he wore in the 1948 classic Eyes of Texas.

    . .

Every kiddo wanted to ride, dress, and look like Roy Rogers.  Roy, his wife Dale, his golden palomino, Trigger, and his German Shepard, Bullet, were featured in more than 100 films between 1937 and 1951.

During my design process, I scoured for old boots with embroidered

    double eagle motifs and here are some of my favorites.. . . . . . . .

I like the tan, red and touch of turquoise. This is a great casual vest. I might not have put the belt on it. A bit of “mixing of motifs” :)

I would love to see it in leather. A heavier embroidery. Maybe red leather, suede with tan embroidery?

What fun, I love looking at your things. Don’t forget about the rodeo queen side of things. They are ALWAYS looking for new and unusual styles.
