This impossible-to-ignore buckle was crafted by the late Zuni artisan Elliot Qualo; his work is highly coveted and collectible. The impressive Crown dancer is inlaid with onyx, turquoise, mother of pearl, and coral, creating a mosaic picture. The artist added dimensionality with a sterling silver stamped scalloped border. It is placed on a black basket-stamped leather belt which helps each of the colorful stones pop. A great piece to complete any day or night look.
Elliot Qualo (1930 - 1974; Zuni) Active since 1960s. Mosaic and channel inlay; bird motifs.
