How stunning is this simple vintage Cochiti inspired 1960’S concho belt crafted by the southwestern silversmith Silviano Quintana. The buckle is a shiny sterling silver double mustache with twist rope details. Each of the nine conchos on the classic black leather strap is sterling silver ovals with twist wire accents. It’s simple, classic, and timeless and absolutely beautiful.
Silviano Quintana (1913 - 2003; Cochiti). Classic style; hand wrought; bolos, buckles. Silversmith at Southwest Arts & Crafts in the late 1930s. Neighbor of Joe H. Quintana at Cochiti Pueblo. 1954 New Mexico State Fair Award Winner.
Marks: S Q, Silviano Quintana (etched script); Silviano (etched script)
