Figuratively, of course. Legendary jewelry artisan, Oscar Betz, once told us that his art flows through him, he’s a conduit, and he creates what he feels compelled to create. Now, most of us can recognize a pair of Oscar Betz earrings a mile away; he’s long been known for his signature chandelier. Lately, his creative genius has been sparked in new ways, and his artistry has evolved into the animal world, like with his chic snake pins, and now, rainbird-style earrings.

These gorgeous new creations still embody all the elements that make Oscar’s work so irresistible and collectible: all stones are hand-selected, hand-cut, and hand-set; the color combinations are vibrant and perfectly curated; and they are surprisingly lightweight for their statement size.

The most common current silhouette is that of a multi-stone rainbird, with teardrop stones surrounding a central oval or squared off cabochon, to form a semblance of a traditional rainbird, accented with sterling silver dangles – either paddles or tipped with tiny stones. They have a lovely shape and beautiful movement, and still really emanate Oscar’s signature style.

Additionally, he’s experimented with hand-carving a rainbird from a stone or spiny oyster and accenting it with a hinged tier of complementary stones, a spin on the chandelier he’s long been known for.

We didn’t commission them, but we really love them, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer them to our Wolf Pack. Because here’s the deal: like we said, Oscar creates what he’s compelled to create, and right now these are an extremely limited edition earring, which makes them incredibly rare and highly collectible. So, if you want to be among the elite of Oscar collectors, it’s time to “add to cart”.
