    LA VIE EN VELVET

Velvet isn’t getting enough credit for its versatility.

Yes, of course, it’s your go-to in December. It’s your holiday party gown. It’s that gorgeous vest you’ve been saving for winter.

But it’s a lot more versatile than that. It can be a pair of pants (yes, velvet pants!) that you sport in the fall. It can be that lovely top that you wear in September. It can be a darling midi dress you don with shortie boots in the middle of who-cares-what-season because velvet is unseasonably cool.

Velvet is the new “white”. Don’t tell us how and when we can wear it, because it’s beautiful and, done right, it works year-round.

4 Ways to Wear it  Now

    1. Senorita dress

The Senorita Dress is a perfect example of a transitional velvet piece. It’s flowing silhouette is reminiscent of a summer maxi dress, which makes it lightweight and lovely to don in the fall, and the deep coloring and luxurious velvet carries you beautifully all the way through to spring. This dress is a great canvas for loading up with jewelry, or keep it simple with a statement squash blossom and boots!

    2. benedict tunic

The Benedict Tunic is a versatile velvet on a lot of levels. Technically a tunic, the Benedict can stand alone as a top over some leggings or skinnies, or unbutton it and wear it open over a simple tank and jeans -- depending on the weather and the occasion.

    3. crazy quilt dress

We’re crazy about the Crazy Quilt Dress! It’s gorgeous in both oxblood and black, and of course, we incorporated some of that patchwork look we’re loving. This velvety dream dress has a flattering flowy fit and works bare-legged with boots now or with tights when the temp drops.

    4. ODESSA TOP

Oh yessa, Odessa! This top is going to be your go-to garment for months to come! It’s flowy, it’s flattering, and it’s fabulous. The hand-embroidery is enough on the earth-tone side to fit right in for fall, but golden enough to work through winter and be a perfect holiday top. It can be dressed down for daytime over your favorite jeans or glammed up for girls’ night paired with leather skinnies, and of course, a great pair of boots!
