A #SHINE FOR EVERY STYLE

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a hundred times (no, literally a hundred– did you see the live launch?!), but #shine is THE style trend of the summer. And Throwback to the Future is bringing it to life in every way imaginable.

“The key to a trend is that you have to make it work for you,” Cheryl said. “We have to believe we’ve interpreted it in a way that’s authentic to DDR or else we don’t adopt that trend – not every trend is for everyone – but one of our unofficial mottos has always been ‘if you can’t see it from across the street, it’s not worth wearing’, so #shine was a no-brainer for us. I’m most proud of how our design team incorporated the whole spectrum of #shine, from subtle to show-stopping.”

SHIMMER

Adding a little glisten to a graphic tee or a silvery shimmer to a patriotic pearl snap can make your everyday outfit impossible to ignore. These sneak in the #shine, it’s an unintimidating way to ease into the trend and they’re particularly easy to dress down with classic cut-offs or distressed denim.

SHEEN

Now we’re having some fun with the fabrics! One of our favorite finds in recently is foiled/metallic leather. From the super-silvery Lucky Stars Jacket to the lust-worthy luster of the Luna Boots – and who could forget the two-toned Walkin’ After Midnight shorties? – that shimmer is the dazzle you didn’t even know you needed! We also loved bringing back the chic sheen of a satiny bomber jacket in the Beam Me Up, and we really pushed the envelope with the Ophiuchus Jacket that has a very cool snakeskin-esque #shine to the colorful leather.

SPARKLE

Sequins and rhinestones, baby! These are kind of the “go big or go home” elements of glitz, and from rhinestone fringe to all-over silver sequins, they give a bold brilliance to this collection that shines as brightly as the stars themselves!
